Avaada Group plans to invest INR 36,000 crore in Gujarat, focusing on solar, wind, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The projects, scheduled to start between 2027 and 2030, include 5 GW of solar, 1 GW of wind, and 5 GWh of battery storage across Kutch, Banaskantha, and Surendranagar districts. The initiative is expected to create over 3,000 direct and indirect green jobs and provide employment to nearly 5,000 workers during construction. The investment reflects Avaada's commitment to India's renewable energy transition and Gujarat's goal of becoming a clean energy hub.
Avaada Group has announced an investment of INR 36,000 crore for renewable energy projects in Gujarat, covering solar, wind, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) initiatives. These projects are expected to commence between 2027 and 2030.
The company formalized this commitment by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat government at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2025. The MoU emphasizes Avaada Group's dedication to supporting India's clean energy transition and aligns with Gujarat's vision of becoming a hub for sustainable and green energy.
Under the agreement, Avaada will develop 5 GW of solar power projects, 1 GW of wind power, and 5 GWh of BESS capacity across the districts of Kutch, Banaskantha, and Surendranagar. Collectively, these projects are estimated to generate more than 1,000 direct green jobs and around 2,000 indirect jobs in the state. During the construction phase, the projects are expected to provide employment opportunities for nearly 5,000 additional workers, contributing significantly to the local economy.
Vineet Mittal, Chairman of Avaada Group, highlighted that the company's renewable energy journey began with India's first large-scale ground-mounted 15 MWp solar plant in Gujarat. He added that signing this MoU demonstrates Avaada's intent to partner with the state government in advancing sustainable development and renewable energy adoption.
Avaada Group's operations extend across renewable power generation, solar PV manufacturing, green hydrogen and derivatives, green data centres, battery storage, and pumped hydro projects. This broad presence indicates the group's strategy to strengthen India's clean energy infrastructure while supporting economic growth in regions where the projects are implemented.
