Daikin and Kubota to invest heavily in Haryana, strengthening R&D and industrial growth

Synopsis

Japanese firms Daikin and Kubota are set to make major investments in Haryana, aimed at enhancing the state's industrial and technological landscape. Daikin will invest INR 1,000 crore to establish a research and development centre focusing on advanced technologies and sustainable industrial solutions. Kubota, in partnership with Escorts, plans to invest INR 2,000 crore to expand agricultural equipment manufacturing. These initiatives are expected to create employment opportunities, attract global business collaborations, and position Haryana as a hub for innovation, research, and modern industrial practices.

Japanese conglomerate Daikin has announced an investment of INR 1,000 crore in Haryana to establish a dedicated research and development (R&D) centre. The centre will focus on developing advanced technologies and sustainable industrial solutions. The state government stated that this move is expected to create numerous employment opportunities for local youth and strengthen the state's industrial capabilities.


The agreement was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in Osaka, Japan, during a visit by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and his delegation. The MoU was signed by Amit Kumar Agrawal, Commissioner and Secretary, Department of Industries and Commerce, Haryana, and Shogo Endo, Deputy Managing Director of Daikin Industries Limited.

The Haryana delegation included Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary Arun Kumar Gupta, Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation Managing Director Yash Garg, and other senior officials.

Chief Minister Saini emphasized that the Haryana government is focused on promoting research, innovation, and advanced manufacturing. He noted that Daikin's investment will not only provide jobs but also integrate Haryana into the global technology ecosystem. The state government added that the partnership will reinforce industrial strength and help establish Haryana as a "Global Innovation Destination."

Senior officials from Daikin highlighted that the new R&D centre will become one of the company's key research facilities, further strengthening business relations between Haryana and Japan.

During the visit, the delegation also toured the Kubota Tractor Plant in Osaka. Discussions focused on potential investments and technical collaboration in agricultural equipment manufacturing. Kubota announced an investment of INR 2,000 crore in collaboration with Escorts to set up operations in Haryana. The state government stated that this will bring modern agricultural technology to the state and create extensive employment opportunities for local youth.

The Chief Minister personally invited Kubota to establish a local manufacturing unit in Haryana, and the company expressed strong interest. The delegation shared information about the state's industry-friendly policies, noting that Haryana has implemented a single-window system to simplify approvals and promote ease of doing business.

Haryana offers developed industrial clusters, a reliable power supply, a skilled workforce, and a well-connected transport network, creating an environment conducive to both domestic and international investments. The state government highlighted that these factors, combined with transparent procedures, ensure that investors receive timely approvals and support for industrial projects.
