This project is expected to strengthen rail connectivity across Patna, Arwal, Jehanabad, and Aurangabad districts. The new line will shorten travel time for thousands of daily commuters while facilitating smoother transport of goods, benefiting businesses and regional trade. It is also expected to improve access to previously underserved areas, supporting broader economic activity and regional development.
In addition to the Bihta-Anugrah Narayan Road section, the Ministry has already approved a 13-km stretch between Anugrah Narayan Road and Aurangabad, where construction is actively underway. Local residents and political representatives of the Magadh region have long demanded these rail developments to address transportation gaps and support growth.
The project is set to enhance the overall efficiency of rail travel in the area. By connecting key districts more directly, it will also help decongest existing routes and provide alternative pathways for both passenger and freight trains, contributing to more balanced regional connectivity.
