HCC and Konkan Railway collaborate on large-scale transport infrastructure projects

Synopsis

HCC and KRCL have signed a partnership to jointly undertake major railway and multi-modal transport infrastructure projects in India and international markets. The MoU sets a long-term collaboration framework to combine the technical expertise and operational strengths of both organisations. The partnership will cover civil construction, track laying, signalling, electrification, MEP systems, operations, and maintenance, with a focus on complex projects like metro systems, NATM tunnelling, railway bridges, and large-scale EPC contracts. This collaboration aims to enhance market presence while delivering integrated, high-quality transport infrastructure efficiently and sustainably.

Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC) has entered into an agreement with Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) to jointly execute major railway and multi-modal transport infrastructure projects across India and international markets. The MoU establishes a framework for long-term collaboration, bringing together the complementary strengths and expertise of both organisations.


The partnership will focus on delivering integrated, end-to-end solutions covering all aspects of transport infrastructure, including civil construction, track laying, signalling, electrification, MEP systems, operations, and maintenance. It will also address other critical components necessary for modern transport networks. Complex projects such as underground and elevated metro systems, NATM tunnelling, railway bridges, and large-scale EPC contracts will be a central focus of this collaboration.

Arjun Dhawan, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of HCC, stated that combining the capabilities of the two organisations would allow them to expand their presence in both domestic and international markets while providing fully integrated transport solutions spanning civil construction and rail systems. HCC has a long history of executing diverse infrastructure projects, including highways, metro rail systems, bridges, and industrial developments. KRCL has been a key player in railway construction and operations along India?s western coast, known for efficiently managing complex coastal terrain projects.

The partnership is expected to leverage the technical expertise, operational experience, and project management strengths of both companies to deliver high-quality, timely, and sustainable infrastructure projects. By integrating their resources and knowledge, HCC and KRCL aim to meet growing transport demands, enhance operational efficiency, and contribute to the development of modern transport networks in India and overseas.
