NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) is set to begin commercial operations of a portion of its 25 MW solar project located in Bhuj, Gujarat, starting from tomorrow. This partial commissioning is part of the larger 37.5 MW solar project in the region. According to the company's regulatory filing, the 25 MW capacity will be officially declared as operational from September 27, 2025.

With this addition, the total installed capacity of the NGEL Group will increase to 7,407.475 MW. NGEL, the renewable energy division of NTPC, has been steadily expanding its green energy portfolio over the past few years, adding solar, wind, and other renewable power projects across India. The company's focus on solar energy aligns with India's broader renewable energy targets, aiming to reduce dependency on conventional power sources and enhance sustainable power generation.

The Bhuj solar project represents another step in NGEL's ongoing strategy to develop and operationalize renewable energy assets in a phased manner. The company has previously commissioned several solar and wind projects in different states, and this partial commercial operation is part of its plan to optimize energy output while ensuring smooth integration with the existing grid. NGEL continues to strengthen India's renewable energy capacity, contributing to cleaner power supply and supporting the country's environmental and energy security goals.
