Bihar Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar inaugurated a major urban development initiative valued at INR 769 crore, covering 33 districts across the state. The program includes 1,300 individual projects implemented by Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (BUIDCO) and Patna Smart City Limited (PSCL), reflecting the state government's focus on improving civic amenities and public infrastructure.

The projects include road construction and repair, drainage system development, park upgrades, and the installation of high-mast streetlights. These measures are aimed at improving connectivity, sanitation, safety, and overall quality of life for residents.

In Patna, the Maurya Lok Complex is undergoing a significant renovation costing INR 15 crore. The upgraded complex will feature the 'Maurya Mandapam,' a 12,000 sq ft multi-purpose hall with a rooftop banquet area built using eco-friendly light gauge steel framing technology. Additional developments include a modern two-screen multiplex, an 80-seat fine dining restaurant, a gymnasium, and a yoga centre. The sixth and seventh floors of the Maurya Tower are being converted into 24,000 sq ft of commercial office space. The surrounding Swami Vivekananda Park is also being beautified as part of the project.

The initiative is part of the state's broader mission of "development for all," aiming to enhance urban infrastructure and public spaces to improve the living standards of citizens. These projects are expected to strengthen urban connectivity, provide better recreational and civic facilities, and create a more organized city environment.
