Haryana's Chief Minister has unveiled a major welfare push: one lakh Antyodaya families will receive 100 sq yd plots with ownership documents, and hospitals in ten districts are set to begin offering private-grade treatment at subsidised prices. Fuel subsidy, farmer support, water and health infrastructure, and youth employment drive are also featured. This builds on earlier pledges and reveals a broader vision beyond just land allotment. The initiative marks a tangible shift in how welfare benefits reach rural underprivileged communities.
The state government has announced that around one lakh landless Antyodaya families will soon be allotted 100 square yard plots along with the ownership documents, confirming earlier promises to provide "a roof over every head". A second phase of housing will cover another lakh families.
Government hospitals across ten districts are scheduled to be upgraded and, starting mid-August, will offer treatments for every disease at private-equivalent standards but at significantly lower rates.
Development grants were announced during visits to villages in the Ladwa constituency such as Dagali, Deeg, Beed Kalwa and Dhanani with allocations including INR 55.41 lakh for a drinking water pipeline in Dagali, INR 52.64 lakh in Beed Kalwa, and INR 27.15 lakh in Dhanani. A Rs 6.38 crore primary health centre foundation stone was also laid at Deeg. Each of these villages will receive INR 21 lakh for further infrastructure works, with local demand letters to be actioned promptly.
Aimed at boosting farmers' incomes, infrastructure for sunflower and mustard oil mills will be set up in Shahbad and Rewari. These are designed to stabilise prices for local producers and complement Haryana's full crop procurement at MSP. The Bhavantar Bharpai scheme will continue to compensate farmers for any losses from fluctuating market prices.
Approximately 18 lakh low-income households earning under INR 1.80 lakh annually are receiving LPG cylinders at a subsidised rate of INR 500. Medical coverage under Ayushman Bharat now offers up to INR 5 lakh in treatment benefits, rising to INR 10 lakh for senior citizens over 70. Dialysis services in government hospitals are now being provided free of charge. The state has released INR 6 crore to support these health and subsidy schemes.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had announced that government hospitals in each district headquarters would soon treat all disease types and this ambitious healthcare upgrade is now slated to begin from mid-August bringing modern equipment and services to the grassroots.
Furthermore, a large-scale transparent recruitment drive for state police has been announced, alongside commendation on the high participation rate over 90% in the Group C CET exam. This reveals a concerted push to combat job-related patronage politics.
To bolster education, a Smart TV learning project has been launched and piloted in five government schools, with plans for state-wide rollout under the Sampark Foundation. This effort is expected to modernise teaching methods and widen digital access in rural classrooms.
This effort underscores the contrast with previous administrations, which had promised similar housing schemes without delivering deeds or possession, according to the CM. He has portrayed the current rollout as a fulfillment of long-overdue commitments.
