Juniper Green Energy has successfully commissioned the 59 MWp solar component of its 75 MW hybrid power project located in Wardha, Maharashtra, significantly ahead of schedule. The solar facility, which forms a part of the Juniper Green Power Five Project, was brought online 17 months before the planned date. The project, backed by a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL), also includes 26.4 MW of wind capacity. The Scheduled Commercial Operation Date (SCOD) for the entire hybrid project remains set for late 2026, marking this milestone as a key step towards full-scale operations.
Juniper Green Energy has announced the early commissioning of the 59 MWp solar component of its 75 MW hybrid renewable energy project located in Wardha, Maharashtra. This major development took place this month, with the solar facility becoming operational 17 months ahead of the originally scheduled date, reflecting the company's strong focus on timely execution and efficient project management.
The hybrid initiative, known as the Juniper Green Power Five Project, includes a total Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) capacity of 75 MW, which comprises 59 MW of solar power that is now operational, along with an additional 26.4 MW of installed wind energy capacity. The PPA for the project was signed with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) in the second half of 2024, with the Scheduled Commercial Operation Date (SCOD) fixed for late 2026.
According to the company, this early commissioning represents a crucial milestone in the phased development of the full hybrid power setup. It adds to Juniper Green Energy's ongoing efforts to expand its renewable energy footprint and contributes toward Maharashtra's renewable power targets. The early execution of the Karanja Hybrid Project follows the successful commissioning of the company's earlier Chapalgaon plant and continues its momentum in the sector.
Commenting on the progress, Juniper Green Energy's Chief Executive Officer Ankush Malik noted that the rapid execution of the project demonstrated the team's capability to deliver large-scale renewable projects well within timelines, reinforcing the company's reputation for reliable and high-speed project delivery.
Juniper Green Energy, headquartered in Delhi NCR, has steadily expanded its presence in India's renewable sector since its inception in October 2018. With a current operational capacity of 1.1 GWp, the company specialises in developing, constructing, and operating utility-scale solar, wind, and hybrid energy projects across the country.
The energy firm is part of AT Capital Group, a Singapore-based global investment group that has diversified interests across sectors such as renewable energy, real estate, and hospitality. The group maintains a strong geographical footprint, with operations across India, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations, Europe, and the United States. Within India, AT Capital also operates Experion Developers, a real estate development firm, and Experion Capital, a non-banking financial company (NBFC) that focuses on funding real estate and infrastructure projects.
The latest commissioning by Juniper Green Energy is expected to strengthen its relationship with state utilities and support wider grid integration efforts as hybrid projects become central to India's evolving energy mix.
