Hamirpur Nagar Nigam is introducing a modern house numbering system to improve property identification and civic record accuracy. The initiative starts with a city-wide survey to update decades-old residential records and simplify service delivery. Aerial drone surveys and GIS-based mapping across 15 wards are currently underway, followed by door-to-door verification to confirm ownership and assign new numbers. These details will be uploaded to an online portal for easy access. The new system aims to enhance postal and courier services, ease online deliveries, and bring greater efficiency to local governance-marking a major step towards smart and streamlined urban management.
The Hamirpur Nagar Nigam is preparing to roll out a new, modernized house numbering system across the city, aiming to transform property identification and civic record management. This initiative, set to follow a detailed property measurement survey, aims to update long-outdated civic records. The upgrade promises enhanced efficiency for essential services and improved citizen convenience, signaling a commitment to advanced land governance and infrastructure.
The core objective of this initiative is to update decades-old records pertaining to residential properties and their occupants, which have often presented challenges for accurate service delivery. A designated company is currently conducting a door-to-door survey to measure individual properties and assign the new, updated house numbers. All the collected survey details, including the new numbering, will be uploaded to an online portal for easy access and management.
This process involves a multi-stage approach; an aerial survey using drones and Geographic Information System (GIS)-based mapping is presently underway across 15 wards, which will then be followed by a thorough door-to-door physical verification to confirm ownership details.
The adoption of this modern house numbering system is anticipated to significantly streamline the delivery of postal and courier services for residents and facilitate the accurate delivery of goods ordered online, addressing common logistical challenges faced in areas with outdated addressing infrastructure.
