The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is preparing to initiate the registration process for 2,502 residential flats under the Vishram Nagar Housing Scheme in Devpur Para, Kabir Nagar. The project, which targets households from the Middle-Middle Income Group (MMIG), Low-Income Group (LIG), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS), provides a range of unit sizes in addition to extensive infrastructure and community facilities. With groundwork nearing completion, the authority has directed officials to finish all civil, electrical, and infrastructural tasks within this month. Registrations are expected to commence next month.
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is gearing up to open registrations for 2,502 residential flats under its much-anticipated Vishram Nagar Housing Scheme, located in the Devpur Para area of Kabir Nagar. This initiative is part of the authority's broader mission to address the city's affordable housing needs by accommodating families across income segments, specifically the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Low-Income Group (LIG), and Middle-Middle Income Group (MMIG).
As per the scheme layout, the LDA has planned 1,832 EWS units with a carpet area ranging between 30 to 32 square metres. In addition, there will be 214 flats for LIG beneficiaries, each measuring approximately 45 square metres. A further 456 units have been earmarked for the MMIG category, offering homes sized at about 55 square metres.
All housing clusters are being developed with a focus on liveability and community well-being. The sites will include key amenities such as paved internal roads, proper drainage systems, round-the-clock water supply, electricity connections, and structured waste management solutions. Furthermore, residents will benefit from landscaped community parks, an open-air gym, designated parking zones, and limited commercial outlets catering to everyday essentials.
Earlier this week, LDA Vice-Chairperson Prathamesh Kumar held a review meeting with engineering and planning teams, where he instructed that all remaining civil and electrical work must be completed before the month ends. He stressed that every construction phase is being closely monitored for quality assurance, with regular checks being implemented to uphold structural integrity and ensure long-term durability.
The Vishram Nagar Housing Scheme is part of LDA's wider strategy to decentralise affordable housing development beyond central Lucknow and reduce urban housing pressure. Located strategically in Kabir Nagar, the site is expected to benefit from growing connectivity and infrastructure improvements along Sultanpur Road and surrounding localities. The area has seen increased development interest following other successful housing projects rolled out by the LDA in recent years.
LDA officials have indicated that the application and registration process will begin next month, with additional details regarding allotment procedures and pricing to be released shortly. Though prices for the flats are yet to be officially disclosed, previous similar schemes by LDA have typically maintained competitive pricing for economically constrained buyers, with options for subsidised financing under government housing policies such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
This scheme adds to LDA's track record of initiating residential projects aligned with state and central housing missions. In the past, the authority has delivered thousands of affordable units across zones like Shaheed Path, Gomti Nagar Extension, and Jankipuram.
