Engineering solutions provider SEPC recently disclosed that it has secured a significant order worth INR 650 crore for establishing 133 MW of solar power capacity across Maharashtra. The company received a letter of award from Kolkata-based Parmeshi Urja Ltd for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of solar projects to be implemented at 26 different locations spread across the districts of Sambhaji Nagar, Dhule, Solapur, and Nanded.
According to SEPC's statement, the scope of the project encompasses design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of solar plant equipment. The assignment also includes civil and structural work necessary to bring the 133 MW solar power capacity online.
This solar initiative falls under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) Yojana, a central government scheme aimed at promoting solar energy use for agricultural and rural empowerment. SEPC confirmed that the execution period for the project is estimated to be between 12 and 18 months from the official commencement date.
