TEMBO Defence, a subsidiary of TEMBO Global Industries Ltd, has received assurance from the Maharashtra government for a 100-acre land allocation in Amravati to establish a new arms and ammunition manufacturing facility. The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) issued a comfort letter confirming the proposed allotment. This move aligns with India's defence localisation efforts under the 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiatives and is expected to significantly expand domestic capabilities and regional employment.
TEMBO Defence announced that the Maharashtra government had extended assurance for the allocation of 100 acres of land in Amravati to establish a facility dedicated to arms and ammunition manufacturing. This commitment was formally conveyed through a comfort letter issued by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), according to an official release from the company.
TEMBO Defence operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of TEMBO Global Industries Limited, a firm engaged in producing and assembling metal components utilised in pipe support systems, fasteners, anchors, HVAC units, and anti-vibration systems. These components are integral to infrastructure across industrial, commercial, utility, and original equipment manufacturing sectors.
The proposed facility is expected to significantly strengthen TEMBO Defence's operational capacity to support India's defence manufacturing sector. The company indicated that the development would not only aid in the nation's strategic manufacturing goals but also contribute meaningfully to government-led initiatives such as 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'.
The Managing Director of Tembo Global Industries Ltd, Sanjay J Patel, conveyed that this land allocation represented a landmark moment in their pursuit of advancing India's defence manufacturing ecosystem. He noted that the upcoming facility was poised to generate substantial employment in the region while serving as a cornerstone in the nation's push for defence self-sufficiency.
With the allocation of 100 acres, the venture signals both industrial growth and strategic intent. TEMBO's initiative could serve as a template for future defence collaborations, anchoring employment, innovation, and national security within India's evolving manufacturing landscape.
