Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd (WRTL) has secured a solar EPC contract worth over INR 345 crore in Rajasthan. The project, awarded by a major domestic renewable energy firm, involves building a 300 MW AC / 435 MW DC ground-mounted solar photovoltaic plant in Bikaner-a key solar energy hub. The scope includes engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and a 33/220 kV pooling substation for grid synchronisation. The project will feature robotic cleaning systems to optimise performance and reduce O&M costs. Scheduled for completion in FY 2025-26, it will contribute to India's renewable energy targets. Executive Director Sunil Rathi highlighted the partnership's alignment with WRTL's vision for sustainable growth. Part of the Waaree Group, WRTL continues to expand its solar EPC footprint across India, leveraging advanced technology to drive the nation's clean energy transition.
Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd (WRTL) has announced securing a major solar EPC contract in Rajasthan, valued at over INR 345 crore. The company made the announcement earlier this week, confirming that the large-scale project had been awarded by a leading domestic renewable energy generation firm, although the client's identity has not been disclosed.
The awarded project involves the development of a 300 MW AC (alternating current) / 435 MW DC (direct current) ground-mounted solar photovoltaic power plant. This high-capacity installation is located in Bikaner, Rajasthan, a region that has become a solar energy hotspot due to its favourable climatic and geographical conditions.
The contract encompasses a full suite of services including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the plant. In addition, the scope of the project includes the development of a 33/220 kV pooling substation, a critical infrastructure element that will support power collection and grid synchronisation.
In a significant move towards operational efficiency and long-term sustainability, the project will also integrate advanced robotic cleaning systems. These systems are designed to maintain peak performance of the solar modules while reducing long-term operations and maintenance (O&M) costs-an increasingly common feature in utility-scale solar installations.
Sunil Rathi, Executive Director of Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd, remarked that this engagement represented a pivotal step in strengthening the company's relationship with the client. He stated that the collaboration was rooted in mutual trust, a shared vision for the future, and a common goal of advancing sustainable growth. He expressed enthusiasm about working closely to deliver high-impact outcomes in the coming years.
The project is scheduled to be completed during the financial year 2025-26 and is expected to significantly contribute to India's broader renewable energy targets. This latest development is in line with WRTL's ongoing strategy to deepen its footprint in the domestic solar EPC market, especially in high-potential states like Rajasthan.
WRTL, part of the Waaree Group-one of India's leading solar module manufacturers-has been actively expanding its EPC portfolio, having delivered numerous projects across utility, industrial and commercial segments in past years.
As India pushes forward with its clean energy transition, projects like this underscore the critical role of advanced technology and trusted partnerships in meeting national targets. WRTL's strategic emphasis on innovation, such as robotic cleaning, and its continued success in securing large-scale projects, demonstrate its readiness to meet the growing demands of a greener, more sustainable energy future. The Rajasthan project marks yet another milestone in the company's ambitious roadmap toward renewable leadership.
