Additionally, L&T will rehabilitate the water network in the Kekri-Sarwar sector, Ajmer, with 43 km of new pipelines. These projects aim to improve drinking water access and tackle fluorosis issues. L&T, a USD 30-billion infrastructure major, continues to lead critical infrastructure development in India. The new contracts further bolster its EPC portfolio while supporting India's rural water and infrastructure mission.

Infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) recently announced that it had secured a set of significant orders from the Rajasthan government. The company, which categorises contracts worth between INR 1,000 crore and INR 2,500 crore as 'significant', confirmed that the new projects were awarded to its water and effluent treatment division by the Public Health Engineering Department of Rajasthan.

According to the company's disclosure to the BSE, L&T had received an EPC order for Phase II, Package-1 of the Rajasthan Rural Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation Project. The comprehensive scope of the assignment includes the supply and installation of 5,251 km of transmission and distribution pipelines, the construction of 38 ground-level reservoirs with a combined storage capacity of 40 million litres (ML), 20 pump houses, and 132 overhead service reservoirs with a total capacity of 25 ML.

The project is designed to address the drinking water needs of 285 villages as well as the towns of Surajgarh and Udaipurwati located in Jhunjhunu district, where water scarcity and fluorosis have long been pressing issues.

In addition to this, L&T also secured another contract focusing on the rehabilitation and strengthening of the water supply network in the Kekri-Sarwar sector of Ajmer district. This includes laying down 43 km of transmission pipelines to reinforce the existing infrastructure.

Larsen & Toubro, a USD 30-billion Indian multinational, continues to strengthen its presence across critical sectors through EPC projects, hi-tech manufacturing and services in India and abroad. The company's deep expertise and execution capabilities remain central to its leadership in infrastructure development.

With a clear emphasis on sustainability and scalability, these projects not only expand the company's growing EPC portfolio but also mark a step forward in India's rural infrastructure mission. As L&T continues to take on complex projects across sectors, such contracts reinforce its pivotal role in addressing India's essential infrastructure challenges.
