Unlawful occupation of Noida's Antriksh Golf View I parking flats: A scandal unfolds

Synopsis

In an escalating dispute at Noida's Antriksh Golf View I society, residents allege the builder unsealed and sold off parking spaces intended for driveways and greenery. Despite sealing 11 of the 78 illicit flats last year, the Noida Authority's efforts have seen limited success. Residents claim two flats were discreetly unsealed and now face the prospect of unlawful sale. Promising to investigate these allegations, an official from the Noida Authority confirmed plans for an inspection. Meanwhile, attempts to reach the builder for comments have been unsuccessful.

Following dubious building practices and allegations of fraud, the residential enclave of Antriksh Golf View I in Noida finds itself entangled in controversy. The developer has been accused of occupying and selling parking slots intended for driveway and green space to its residents, a move that violates previously established building regulations.

In the past year, the Noida Authority took action against the illegitimate construction of 78 flats in the stilt parking zone of the society, sealing 11 of them. However, according to local residents, the developer discreetly unsealed two of these flats months later, a move they claim is criminal.

On May 18, 2022, the authority sealed 11 unlawful flats. However, a few families sought legal protection from the High Court, which consequently ordered a stay on further action. Gautam criticized the builder's audacity to unseal two sealed flats, suggesting a gross violation of rules. He voiced concerns that the builder could now sell these flats, creating a situation where authorities might hesitate to intervene if families are found residing there.

Residents have recalled that when the builder initiated construction in the parking area back in 2017, the community had reported it to the Authority, which led to a notice issued against the builder. Despite this, the builder resumed construction, provoking further complaints. Though the case is now under court review, preventing the Authority from taking action, their parking services are compromised, forcing them to use the driveway, a space reserved for emergencies.

In response to these allegations, a senior official from the Noida Authority has promised an inspection of the Antriksh Golf View I society to ensure necessary actions are taken against the unsealed flats.

In conclusion, this controversy unveils a critical issue of residential rights versus construction ethics. The ensuing legal battles reflect a larger issue at hand — the protection of residents’ rights and the enforcement of building regulations. This situation calls for not just immediate resolutions but also long-term systemic changes to prevent such incidents in the future.
