The Bihar government has launched a new Management Information System (MIS) portal aimed at increasing transparency and efficiency in land acquisition processes across the state. The portal offers real-time access to comprehensive information on various land acquisition projects and is expected to enhance coordination among stakeholders while reducing bureaucratic delays. This digital initiative is part of the state’s broader e-governance and land reforms programme, which has been actively working toward digitising land records and improving public access to official data in recent years.
In a move aimed at enhancing transparency and streamlining administration in land-related matters, the Bihar government introduced a Management Information System (MIS) portal earlier this week. During the launch event, Bihar’s Additional Chief Secretary, Deepak Kumar Singh, stated that several land acquisition projects are currently in progress. He indicated that the portal would serve as a centralised digital repository, enabling both government departments and the general public to access accurate and up-to-date data on these developments. He also noted that the system would improve internal coordination between departments involved in land-related decisions.
The MIS portal aims to make the entire process more accountable by eliminating opacity and ensuring that stakeholders including government officials, project developers, and affected citizens are equipped with the necessary information at their fingertips. The system allows users to track land parcels involved in ongoing projects, view documentation, and check approval statuses, all through a single interface.
This development is a part of Bihar’s broader mission to modernise its land administration framework. Over the past few years, the state has implemented multiple initiatives to digitise land records, resolve disputes, and make land transactions more accessible and transparent to the public.
