Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has recently introduced a new scheme aimed at the allocation of data center plots. Officials have confirmed that the scheme commenced on June 13 and will remain open for applications until July 4.
In this initiative, 13 plots specifically designated for data centers are being made available for purchase through an e-auction. The authority has set an ambitious target of earning Rs 1,000 crore through this process. The data center plots, according to a GNIDA representative, are situated in two sectors within Knowledge Park-5 and Techzone.
"The scheme comprising 13 data center plots was launched on June 13. Out of these, two plots are located in Knowledge Park-5, while the remaining 11 are in Techzone. The sizes of these plots range from 4,047 square meters to 1.07 lakh square meters," stated the official.
Furthermore, the cumulative area covered by these 13 data center plots amounts to approximately 70 acres. GNIDA anticipates an investment of Rs 20,000 crore if all the plots are successfully allotted. The official also estimated that these data centers could generate around 10,000 job opportunities.
The official highlighted that Greater Noida has become an attractive destination for data centers due to its excellent connectivity and availability of robust infrastructure. Several companies have displayed significant interest in establishing their data centers in the area. While the data center scheme will conclude on July 4, applicants have the flexibility to submit their processing fees and documents until July 6 and July 8, respectively.
Individuals interested in participating can access the GNIDA website and the web portal of the State Bank of India (SBI) to obtain the scheme's brochure for additional details. The online application process can be completed through the SBI portal.
The launch of this scheme is expected to bolster the growth of data centers in Greater Noida, attracting substantial investments and creating numerous employment opportunities. With its advantageous location and advanced infrastructure, the city is poised to become a prominent hub for data centers in the region.
