Indore's stamps and registrations department has merged about 500 smaller property registration centers with larger ones to improve efficiency and streamline real estate transactions. This restructuring, achieved through polygon mapping, has reduced the number of registration locations from 5,124 to 4,613. Around 3,200 locations will see guideline rate hikes of 20% to 100%, and 150 new colonies will be added to the collector guidelines. The move aims to simplify property registration, boost revenue, and support Indore's growing real estate market. Final approval is expected soon, shaping property transactions in the city for the upcoming financial year.
About 500 smaller property registration centers have been combined with larger ones nearby by Indore's stamps and registrations department to increase efficiency and ease real estate transactions. These consolidated centers follow common rates, simplifying the registration process for buyers. This restructuring, achieved through polygon mapping, has brought down the total number of registration locations in the city from 5,124 to 4,613.
According to officials, this initiative is expected to boost revenue for the registration department while also making it more convenient for the public to identify property locations. According to senior district registrar Amresh Naidu, the Indore district's collector guidelines areas have been polygon-mapped, paving the way for a revised proposal of guidelines based on location changes.
He further explained that sub-district evaluation committee meetings have concluded, and after Holi, the district evaluation committee will convene to finalize the collector guideline proposal for Indore. Following this, a one-week window will be provided for claims and objections, after which the final proposal will be submitted to Bhopal for approval.
Of the 4,613 revised locations in the Indore district, around 3,200 are slated for guideline rate hikes, with proposed increases ranging from 20% to 100% across various areas. Additionally, approximately 150 new colonies are set to be included in the collector guidelines for the upcoming financial year. The registration department has already received applications for these colonies and will continue accepting proposals for new locations until the district evaluation committee meeting is held and claims objections are addressed.
Previously, Indore's property registration system was fragmented, with numerous small centers causing inefficiencies and confusion among buyers. The introduction of polygon mapping is aimed at addressing these longstanding issues by ensuring consistency in rates and reducing complexities in property identification.
Indore's real estate market has been experiencing steady growth, with increasing demand for residential and commercial properties. The addition of 150 new colonies to the collector guideline signifies the city's continuous urban expansion. Similar expansions in previous years have contributed to rising property values and infrastructure development.
The restructuring of Indore's property registration system is set to enhance operational efficiency, benefiting both the department and property buyers. By consolidating smaller registration centers with larger ones, the process becomes more streamlined while also improving revenue collection. The planned hike in guideline rates across 3,200 locations, along with the inclusion of 150 new colonies, reflects the city's evolving real estate landscape. Furthermore, it is expected that the use of polygon mapping will result in a more organized and transparent registration procedure, learning from previous difficulties. With the district evaluation committee set to finalize the proposals soon, these changes are expected to shape property transactions in Indore in the coming financial year.
