Brigade Group has announced plans to invest INR 1,500 crore in Kerala, a move expected to generate employment opportunities for over 12,000 people in the next five years. The company's flagship arm, Brigade Enterprises Limited, submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) at the Invest Kerala Global Summit. The announcement, made in the presence of Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, marks a significant step in Brigade's ongoing expansion in the state.
As part of this investment, Brigade will establish Kerala's second World Trade Center (WTC), following the success of WTC Kochi. The company also plans to launch a residential project in Kochi and develop a luxury island resort in Vaikom. These projects are expected to be completed by 2030, with the Kerala government ensuring regulatory support and facilitation as per applicable laws.
Building on its presence in the state, Brigade had previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Technopark to develop a WTC and related infrastructure in Thiruvananthapuram. This project will feature approximately 1.5 million square feet of office space across multiple towers. Additionally, the company has initiated the expansion of WTC Kochi within Infopark, adding a third tower and expanding its IT infrastructure to over a million square feet. The upcoming luxury island resort and residential project will further strengthen Brigade's foothold in Kerala's real estate sector.
Vineet Verma, Managing Director of WTC Trades & Projects P Limited, a Brigade Group company, expressed that Kerala remains a crucial market for their commercial, IT office space, hospitality, and residential developments. He highlighted the state's thriving IT/ITES and tourism sectors as key drivers of growth and noted that Brigade, with government support, aims to contribute to Kerala's broader economic and infrastructural progress.
With nearly four decades of experience in real estate, Brigade Group has built a strong reputation for delivering premium projects. Past developments such as WTC Kochi and the Four Points by Sheraton highlight the company's commitment to enhancing Kerala's real estate landscape.
Brigade Group's substantial investment in Kerala underscores its long-term commitment to the state's economic and infrastructure growth. By expanding its commercial, residential, and hospitality portfolio, the company aims to drive employment and support Kerala's booming IT and tourism sectors. The government's backing ensures a favourable business environment, facilitating the seamless execution of these projects. With a strong track record of delivering landmark developments, Brigade's latest initiatives are poised to reshape Kerala's real estate sector by 2030.
