Strict enforcement measures will continue against future violations.

Authorities in Gurugram conducted a large-scale enforcement drive last week to seal and demolish illegal constructions across the city. The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) led the operation, targeting multiple locations, including Idea Cosmic Plaza in Palam Vihar, as well as Alipur and Raiseena villages. During the crackdown at Idea Cosmic Plaza, officials demolished two unapproved ramps and a gym while sealing two offices. Senior officials, including DTP (Enforcement) Amit Madholia and junior engineer Naveen, supervised the drive to ensure compliance with planning regulations.

Operations in Alipur and Raiseena villages spanned 69 acres of illegally developed land. Officials dismantled a road network in Alipur, demolished 15 damp-proof courses, and razed four boundary walls. Meanwhile, in Raiseena, the enforcement team removed 57 boundary walls and four under-construction structures, reinforcing the government's commitment to preventing illegal developments. Following the demolition, officials indicated a stringent crackdown on developers and brokers involved in illegal construction.

Investigations are underway to identify those responsible for selling illegal properties and misleading buyers. Authorities have already issued legal notices to multiple developers, with further FIRs likely to be registered against violators. The demolition drives sparked protests from property owners and tenants, many of whom claimed ignorance regarding the legal status of their buildings. Several residents expressed frustration over the sudden action, arguing that they had invested their life savings in properties they believed to be legitimate.

Several affected buyers planned to approach the courts, asserting that builders had misled them. To prevent similar incidents, authorities issued a strong advisory urging buyer to verify land approvals with the DTP office before investing in real estate.

As the city moves toward stricter enforcement of urban development laws, officials reaffirm their commitment to preventing prohibited construction and ensuring planned expansion. Authorities remain firm in their stance, indicating that future violations will face similar consequences.
