BWH Hotels, which operates brands like Best Western and SureStay, plans to expand its India presence by adding 21 new hotels over the next two years. Global CEO Larry Cuculic emphasized a strategic shift toward newly constructed properties to enhance brand reputation and guest experience. Currently, BWH manages 32 hotels across India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, generating INR 250 crore in revenue. The company has agreements for 54 new hotels and aims to reach 100 properties in 5-7 years. This expansion positions BWH Hotels as a key player in India's hospitality sector, ensuring steady growth in the coming years.
Mid-market hotel operator BWH Hotels, which oversees brands such as Best Western Hotels & Resorts and SureStay Hotels, is increasing its presence in India with plans for 21 new hotels over the next two years.Larry Cuculic, the company's global president and chief executive officer, who visited India for the recently concluded HOPE 2025 hospitality conference, mentioned that all forthcoming properties would be newly constructed. This decision marks a strategic shift aimed at enhancing the brand's reputation and elevating the guest experience.
BWH Hotels currently operates 32 properties spread across India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The company collaborates with Sorrel Hospitality Pvt. Ltd, a Delhi-based firm, with which it partnered in 2016 when it had approximately seven hotels in the region. Collectively, the hotels managed by BWH Hotels generate revenue of around INR 250 crore.
Of the 28 hotels currently operational in India, the company is planning to open five more this year, with additional properties scheduled to launch thereafter. In addition, the company is preparing to launch its Aiden hotel in Amritsar in the coming months.
The company has signed agreements for 54 hotels and has entered into an additional five memoranda of understanding with potential owners. Cuculic confirmed that this pipeline of projects would bring BWH Hotels- total portfolio to 100 properties within the next five to seven years.
With this expansion, BWH Hotels is positioning itself as a major player in the Indian hospitality sector, expecting steady revenue growth in the years ahead.
