Synopsis

The Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) in Mumbai has invited applications for the empanelment of developers to undertake redevelopment projects under its jurisdiction. Application forms will be available from 7th March to 21st March 2025 at the SRA office in Bandra (East). Developers must submit detailed documentation, including project experience, financial turnover, and manpower availability. Empanelled developers will be responsible for tasks such as site demarcation, transit arrangements, construction, and obtaining necessary approvals. The selection process ensures that only competent developers are enlisted, with annual revisions to maintain high standards.

The Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) in Brihanmumbai has announced the invitation of applications for the empanelment of developers to undertake development and redevelopment projects under its jurisdiction. This initiative aims to streamline the rehabilitation process and ensure the systematic execution of redevelopment schemes across Mumbai.

The application forms for empanelment will be made available for purchase from 7th March 2025 to 21st March 2025. The forms are currently accessible at the Office of the Deputy Chief Engineer, WS & City, located on the 2nd Floor of the Administrative Building at Anant Kanekar Marg, Bandra (East), Mumbai, 400 051.

Developers seeking empanelment must adhere to specific guidelines laid down by SRA. The application process comprises multiple components, including a requisition form, an acknowledgment form, Annexure I detailing the equipment and manpower available, as well as project detail sheets outlining both ongoing and completed projects. These documents are designed to assess the applicants' capabilities in handling large-scale redevelopment projects.

The prescribed application form must be completed as per the given instructions, with all necessary details filled in the respective sections. Supporting documents, including project descriptions, certificates, and photographs, must be enclosed with the application. Any additional annexures or separate sheets will not be considered, and incomplete applications may be disregarded.

As part of the redevelopment process, empowered developers will be responsible for several critical tasks. These include demarcation of the society's building plot, finalizing boundaries, informing SRA about existing tenements and built-up areas, and ensuring compliance with Development Plan (DP) reservations.

Developers must also prepare and obtain approval for detailed redevelopment plans, facilitate the relocation of existing occupants to transit accommodations, and oversee the reconstruction process under the supervision of a registered RCC consultant.

Once the project reaches completion, developers are required to obtain an Occupation Certificate (OC) from the competent authority, provide permanent accommodation to the rehabilitated occupants, and hand over SRA's share of the built-up area.

The classification of developers under the SRA empanelment scheme will be revised annually, ensuring that only competent and reliable developers remain on the panel. The SRA Board retains the right to accept or reject any application without providing a reason.

The SRA's initiative to empanel developers is a significant step towards streamlining slum redevelopment in Mumbai. By setting clear eligibility criteria and a structured application process, the authority aims to ensure that only experienced and capable developers are involved in these critical projects.
