Synopsis

Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has moved to an entirely online system for building plan approvals, eliminating the need for builders and developers to visit offices for permissions. This change, initiated in the new year, is aimed at enhancing transparency and easing the approval process. Builders can now submit plans, track the status of their applications, and address pending documents online through the BPMS software. The move was welcomed by local developers, who appreciate the convenience and efficiency of the digital platform.

In Kalyan-Dombivli, builders can now obtain building permits without visiting municipal offices, thanks to a new online approval system launched by the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) at the beginning of the year.

Previously, while KDMC offered an online facility for building plans, technical issues often forced applicants to resort to offline processes. To enhance efficiency and transparency, KDMC Commissioner Dr. Indurani Jakhar initiated a complete transition to an online approval system.

As part of this transition, the KDMC's Town Planning Department held a training session earlier this week for local builders and architects. The session aimed to guide them on how to apply for building plans online and address any related queries. Surendra Tengale, the Additional Town Planner at KDMC, confirmed that the system is now fully operational, enabling developers nationwide to submit building plans digitally.

Under this new system, developers can track the status of their applications, see which department is handling their file, and upload any missing documents directly online, eliminating the need for multiple office visits. The KDMC is using BPMS software, provided by the state government, for this online submission and approval process, and reports indicate that it is functioning smoothly.

This shift has been met with approval from the city's builders and architects. Developer Vimal Thakkar shared his positive view, explaining that in today's digital age, online building permissions will save time and effort, making the process of getting plans approved much more convenient than before.

The KDMC's move to an entirely online building plan approval system is a step forward in streamlining the construction process in Kalyan-Dombivli. The decision, driven by a desire for transparency and efficiency, has been welcomed by local builders, who no longer have to deal with the complexities of offline applications. With the use of BPMS software, the system ensures smooth functioning, making it easier for developers to submit plans, track progress, and address any issues without the need for multiple visits to municipal offices.
