Municipal Commissioner Ganesh Bharti inaugurated the 'MCD App,' heralding a new era of transparency and efficiency in the property tax system.
The MCD, in a press release, explained that this initiative of property geo-tagging by taxpayers will lead to the precise identification of properties based on their location. This new approach is designed to facilitate improved service delivery by the civic body. Geo-tagging refers to the process of assigning unique geographical coordinates - latitude and longitude - to a property on a Geographic Information System (GIS) map. This is done by selecting the current location corresponding to the Unique Property Identification Code (UPIC), enabling every property to be uniquely placed on the map.
Residents are urged to promptly geo-tag their properties, contributing to the holistic development of Delhi, the press release further stated. The MCD App is readily available for download on Android devices via the Google Play Store or through the MCD's official website. iPhone users can anticipate the app's availability on the iOS platform in the forthcoming two weeks.
