In a remarkable display of commitment to environmental sustainability, Gaurs Group, a leading real estate company, inaugurated a cutting-edge 15 MW solar power plant on World Environment Day. Situated near Gwalior in Mahoba, the project spans over a sprawling 50-acre area. With an investment of Rs 80 crores, this state-of-the-art facility is poised to generate 2.25 crore units of electricity annually. Its capacity can be expanded in the future to meet growing demands.



Manoj Gaur, Chairman and Managing Director of Gaurs Group, expressed his delight at the completion of the Mahoba solar power project, emphasizing the company's dedication to sustainable development and reduction in carbon emissions. He added that the plant has a minimum useful life of 26 years but has the potential to operate even beyond that period.



By establishing this solar power plant, Gaurs Group aims to contribute to environmental preservation by reducing approximately 18 thousand tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions annually. The project's funding includes private equity investments and a financial support of Rs 55 crores from SBI. The electricity generated by the plant will be integrated into the central grid and utilized for various projects undertaken by Gaurs Group, including Gaur City Mall, Gaur Central Mall, The Gaurs Sarovar Portico, and Gaur City Centre.



The Mahoba solar power plant stands as a testament to Gaurs Group's unwavering commitment to sustainable development, solidifying its position as an industry leader in environmental consciousness. Notably, the company was among the pioneers in adopting solid waste management practices in the real estate sector. With a daily collection and conversion of over 60,000 kg of solid waste into compost, Gaurs Group effectively manages nearly 21,900 metric tonnes of waste annually from its projects.



As the world commemorates World Environment Day, Gaurs Group emerges as a frontrunner in the fight against climate change and environmental degradation.
