Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to accelerate development projects in Gorakhpur by increasing manpower and ensuring strict accountability. He mandated the appointment of nodal officers for each project, with weekly updates to the District Magistrate and fortnightly reviews. Emphasizing public participation, Adityanath stressed prompt grievance redressal via the CM Helpline and proactive engagement with entrepreneurs to boost economic growth. Law and order were also reviewed, with a focus on curbing organized crime and regulating street vendors. The meeting concluded with the inauguration of a new conference hall to facilitate administrative discussions.
In a recent meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath focused on the need to speed up development projects across various departments in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. He highlighted the importance of increasing manpower and ensuring accountability to achieve timely project completion. Adityanath directed officials to assign a nodal officer to each project, responsible for monitoring progress and providing weekly updates to the District Magistrate. This structured approach aims to streamline project management and enhance transparency. In addition, he mandated that all projects be reviewed every 15 days by the District Magistrate or a senior officer, ensuring that public representatives are regularly consulted for their input and suggestions.
Public participation is a critical aspect of the development process, according to Adityanath. He urged officials to maintain open lines of communication with local representatives and to address citizen grievances promptly. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for a responsive grievance system, where complaints registered on the CM Helpline are resolved quickly, and feedback is collected to improve services and build public trust.
During the meeting, Adityanath also noted Gorakhpur's emerging status as a hub for entrepreneurs. He encouraged officials to engage proactively with local business owners to address their concerns and ensure they benefit from government schemes. Strengthening online systems within the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) was also discussed as a means to facilitate smoother interactions between entrepreneurs and the government.
In addition to development projects, the Chief Minister reviewed law and order in the region. He reiterated the government's commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against crime, particularly focusing on organized crime and cow smuggling. Adityanath called for increased police presence and foot patrols to enhance public safety, while also improving the response times of police vehicles. He instructed officials to ensure that minors do not operate autos or e-rickshaws and to regulate street vendors within designated areas.
Before concluding the meeting, Adityanath inaugurated a new conference hall in the Annexy building, which will serve as a venue for future administrative discussions. The meeting was attended by various public representatives, senior administration officials, and police, underscoring a collaborative approach to governance.
As Gorakhpur continues to develop, the emphasis on accountability, public participation, and safety will be crucial in shaping the future of the city. The Chief Minister’s directives aim to create a more responsive and efficient administrative framework that meets the needs of its residents and supports local economic growth.
