The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has invited private firms to present their plans for creating a detailed project report (DPR) for the Harnandipuram township. Three companies have already made their presentations, with financial bids expected to follow. The DPR will focus on essential infrastructure, including road connectivity, drainage, and water systems, while ensuring the township is designed to address pollution. Additionally, new technologies like AI will be incorporated to promote water and energy conservation. The project will span 521 hectares and is estimated to cost INR 10,000 crore, with partial funding from the state government.
The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has invited private firms to present their plans as part of the process to select an agency responsible for creating the detailed project report (DPR) for the Harnandipuram township. Three companies have already made their presentations, and the next step will be the opening of the financial bids, as stated by officials.
An official mentioned that the DPR will include various provisions, such as road connectivity, drainage systems, and water networks, while ensuring that the proposed township is well-equipped to handle pollution. The official further explained that a committee has been formed to evaluate the presentations, after which financial bids will be invited for the creation of the DPR. It was added that, as per the agreement, the companies would be compensated on a per-hectare basis.
Surveys, including a drone survey of the area, have been conducted to assess the feasibility of the planned features for the new township. The official also highlighted that the township would incorporate water and energy conservation measures through the use of advanced technologies, including AI, in order to ensure its environmental sustainability. This message was communicated to the firms competing to create the DPR.
The township will feature an AI-based water conservation system to prevent water wastage, and solar energy will be harnessed for the township's power needs through the installation of rooftop solar plants. These and other features will be included in the DPR. The proposed Harnandipuram township is set to be developed across an area of 521 hectares under the CM Urban Expansion New City Promotion Scheme. Land acquisition will take place from several villages, with the state government expected to allocate INR 400 crore for the project. The total cost of developing the township is estimated at INR 10,000 crore, with half of the funding coming from the state government and the remainder from the GDA.
Land for the project will be acquired from eight villages, with the largest portion (247.84 hectares) coming from Nangla Ferozepur village, followed by Shamsher village (123.97 hectares). Other villages involved include Bhanera Khurd (11.83 hectares), Mathurapur (8.72 hectares), Champat Nagar (39.2 hectares), Shahpur Morta (54.20 hectares), Bhowapur (2.58 hectares), and Morti (2.58 hectares).
The Ghaziabad Development Authority's move to invite private firms to present their plans for the Harnandipuram township marks a significant step towards developing a modern, environmentally sustainable township. With a focus on advanced technologies like AI and solar energy, the project aims to conserve resources while providing essential infrastructure. The state government's support, along with GDA funding, will ensure the project moves forward, covering an area of 521 hectares. The successful completion of the township will involve careful land acquisition from several villages and a budgetary allocation of INR 10,000 crore.
