The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) reclaimed reserved plots and cleared encroachments in the Gota, Thaltej, Jagatpur, and Sola areas as part of its urban planning initiatives. In Gota's TP scheme 56, AMC secured an 8,800 sq. m residential plot and a 420 sq. m open space plot. In Thaltej's TP scheme 214, two commercial plots, measuring 1,088 sq. m and 5,824 sq. m, were reclaimed. In Jagatpur's TP scheme 34, land reserved for housing the urban poor was cleared, while illegal structures obstructing roads in Sola's TP schemes 42 and 43 were removed. These efforts demonstrate AMC's commitment to sustainable urban development, reclaiming land for planned growth, and improving infrastructure access in Ahmedabad.
The estate department team from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), operating within the north-west zone, recently took possession of reserved plots in the town planning (TP) schemes of Gota and Thaltej areas. As part of the operation, the team also cleared and opened up designated roads in these areas to facilitate better urban infrastructure and access.
According to reports from TNN, in Gota ward, the AMC team secured four plots across various TP schemes. A notable acquisition was a plot of 8,800 sq m, designated for residential use in TP scheme 56. In addition, encroachments were cleared from a 420 sq m plot earmarked for open space, which was also taken into possession.
The operation also extended to Thaltej, where two plots were secured in TP scheme 214. These plots, measuring 1,088 sq m and 5,824 sq m respectively, were allocated for commercial purposes. This acquisition is expected to help in the development of the area's commercial infrastructure.
Moreover, the team moved on to Jagatpur's TP scheme 34, where encroachments were cleared from plots reserved for housing for the urban poor, ensuring the proper use of land for its intended purpose. In Sola's TP schemes 42 and 43, illegal structures obstructing an 18m-wide road and a 7.5m-wide road were removed to ensure better access and smooth traffic flow.
This operation, carried out as part of AMC's ongoing efforts to improve urban planning, demonstrates a strong commitment to reclaiming valuable land, removing illegal encroachments, and improving infrastructure in key areas of Ahmedabad. By securing land and ensuring proper access to roads, the AMC aims to support sustainable development in the city.
In conclusion, this proactive move by the AMC highlights its commitment to reclaiming valuable land for planned urban growth, improving infrastructure, and enhancing access. The cleared plots and roads will help support both residential and commercial developments, contributing to Ahmedabad's future urban development.
