The Telangana government has introduced 'BuildNow,' a new system designed to accelerate building and layout approvals, replacing the TG-bPASS system implemented in 2020. Scheduled to be operational from February 1, BuildNow significantly reduces approval times for high-rise and non-high-rise buildings, offering advanced AI and AR technologies for efficient processing. The system integrates with TG RERA, ensuring better transparency and accountability. Key improvements include reduced submission and approval times, an AI-powered virtual assistant, and 3D visualisation capabilities for enhanced project understanding. Authorities anticipate that BuildNow will streamline processes, benefiting developers and buyers alike.
In a significant relief for builders and homebuyers, the Telangana government has introduced "BuildNow," an advanced online system for expedited building and layout approvals. Replacing the TG-bPASS system launched in September 2020, BuildNow will be implemented from February 1. Government sources shared that architects, government officials, and resident welfare associations will undergo training on the new system's operations before its launch.
BuildNow promises remarkable efficiency, processing approvals for high-rise buildings with multiple towers and over 40 floors within minutes, a stark improvement over TG-bPASS, which took between two and 30 days depending on the project size. Similarly, non-high-rise building approval timelines will be reduced from 21 to 15 days, and occupancy certificates can now be obtained in just 10 days instead of 15.
Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu inaugurated this unified system at the secretariat. Officials from the municipal administration department described BuildNow as one of the fastest scrutiny systems, powered by advanced technology to process applications in minutes rather than weeks. Additionally, it will integrate with TG RERA to provide citizens with real-time information on building permissions.
The system incorporates an AI-powered virtual assistant to guide users through the application process, address queries, and offer personalised assistance. Unlike TG-bPASS, which required users to navigate multiple platforms, BuildNow operates on a single unified portal for submissions, fee payments, and status tracking, thereby enhancing accountability.
The new platform also features 3D visualisation and augmented reality (AR) technology. Municipal administration principal secretary Dana Kishore explained that these capabilities allow citizens to experience proposed projects in a real-world context, fostering better understanding and promoting real estate development.
The Telangana government's BuildNow system marks a transformative step in streamlining building and layout approvals. By integrating AI, AR, and a unified platform, it addresses the inefficiencies of its predecessor, TG-bPASS, ensuring faster processing and improved transparency. These advancements will not only benefit developers and homebuyers but also promote a more accessible and accountable real estate approval process. With its scheduled launch, BuildNow promises to enhance urban development in Telangana while setting a new benchmark for administrative efficiency in the sector.
