Brigade Group has entered a Joint Development Agreement for a one million square foot residential project in West Chennai, forming part of a larger 1.5 million square foot mixed-use complex. Brigade envisions Chennai as a key growth market, second only to Bengaluru, with this project valued at an estimated INR 800 crore. With plans to invest over INR 8,000 crores in Chennai by 2030, Brigade aims to expand across residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality sectors. Brigade Group has entered into a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) to develop a substantial residential project spanning approximately one million square feet in West Chennai, one of the city's most rapidly growing areas. This residential project will be part of a larger mixed-use development spanning 1.5 million square feet, with an estimated Gross Development Value (GDV) of approximately INR 800 crores. Brigade has chosen not to disclose the identity of its joint venture partner at this stage.
In June 2024, the company announced plans to invest over INR 8,000 crores by 2030 to expand its presence in Chennai. This ambitious pipeline envisions more than 15 million square feet across multiple segments, of which the residential component alone comprises over 12 million square feet. Brigade estimates the GDV for its residential projects to exceed INR 13,000 crores. With this strategic focus, the company expects Chennai to become its second-largest market after Bengaluru.
