The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) addressed 48 complaints regarding inflated property tax assessments from the recent GIS survey during a redressal camp held on Friday.


Mayor Sushma Kharakwal chaired the event, actively listening to residents' grievances and instructing officials to resolve issues promptly. She highlighted the camp's effectiveness in addressing public concerns stemming from the GIS survey and reaffirmed the administration's commitment to ensuring fairness and transparency in tax assessments. Municipal Commissioner Inderjit Singh oversaw the proceedings, ensuring that all matters were resolved on-site. The LMC announced that redressal camps would continue every Friday until all complaints are addressed.

Among the significant adjustments, Tanu Pandey from Aliganj Sector-M saw her annual property tax reduced from INR 14,580 to INR 7,020. Similarly, Ram Kumar Khanna from Nishatganj had his tax lowered from INR 14,480 to INR 11,520, while Janki Ballabh Durgapal from Eldeco-1 in Sharda Nagar experienced a reduction from INR 28,350 to INR 21,600.

The successful resolution of property tax complaints during this redressal camp demonstrates the LMC's dedication to responsive governance and community engagement. As they continue these efforts weekly, the corporation aims to foster trust and transparency while ensuring that residents are treated fairly.
