Synopsis

Officials in Pune announced that the possession of new facilities will be handed over gradually in a phased manner, featuring world-class infrastructure including spacious courtrooms and amenities for staff and litigants. In a recent cabinet meeting, the naming of the subway and flyover on the Katraj-Kondhwa stretch of national highway in Pune after RSS sarsanghchalak Balasaheb Deoras was approved. This proposal was made by the Pune Municipal Corporation at the request of the Pune Medical Services and Research Foundation, recognising Balasaheb Deoras as the third sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Recent developments in Pune have revealed that the transition to new judicial facilities is taking place in a systematic, phased approach. Officials have announced that the upcoming complex will offer state-of-the-art infrastructure, with meticulously designed and spacious courtrooms, dedicated chambers for judges and registry staff, an arbitration and mediation center, an auditorium, and a library. Additional features and amenities are set to enhance the experience for staff, lawyers, and litigants alike.

In a recent cabinet meeting, approval was granted to name the subway and flyover along the Katraj-Kondhwa stretch of the national highway in Pune after Balasaheb Deoras, the revered RSS sarsanghchalak. This decision was made following a proposal from the Pune Municipal Corporation, which originated from the Pune Medical Services and Research Foundation, advocating for the honoring of Deoras by naming the square and subway after him.

Officials conveyed that among the existing buildings, 169 have been deemed dangerous, with 68 classified as super-dangerous. Plans are in place to vacate the remaining 101 structures, with service accommodations for employees to be allocated through a lottery system. Construction for 12 new buildings is currently underway, including one specifically designated for the Savitribai Phule Government Hostel. Approximately 30 acres of land have been earmarked for the new Bombay High Court complex, as highlighted by officials. Earlier this month, Chief Justice of India, D. Y. Chandrachud, laid the foundation stone for this significant project, with 4.3 acres of the designated land already transferred to the high court.

The phased handover of these facilities represents a major advancement in enhancing the region's judicial infrastructure, promising world-class amenities for all users. Furthermore, the decision to name the subway and flyover in honor of Balasaheb Deoras underscores a dedication to recognizing prominent figures within the community. These initiatives not only aim to improve accessibility and services in Pune but also play a crucial role in the modernization and enhancement of the legal system, ultimately benefiting all stakeholders involved.
