The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) anticipates generating INR 656 crore by leasing three prime plots in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) for significant infrastructure developments, which will include a clubhouse with sports facilities, a hospital, and an educational institution. These plots are available on an 80-year lease, with bids required to be submitted by 25 November.

The largest plot, situated in G Block, spans 52,138 square metres and is earmarked for the creation of a world-class clubhouse and sports facility. MMRDA has established a reserve price of INR 168 crore for this plot, which allows for a built-up area of 10,427 square metres. Plans for the clubhouse encompass suites, conference rooms, an auditorium, a restaurant, and a gymnasium, as well as a variety of indoor and outdoor sports facilities. The outdoor amenities will include a swimming pool, a tennis court, cricket nets, a football pitch, a basketball court, and a 400-metre running track. The project will also incorporate basement parking and other related services.

In the GTxT Block, a second plot measuring 10,026 square metres has been designated for the development of a hospital. This plot, with a reserve price of approximately INR 323 crore, allows for a built-up area of 20,052 square metres. The third plot, also located in GTxT Block, spans 5,118 square metres and is reserved for an educational institution. The reserve price for this plot has been set at INR 164.87 crore, permitting a built-up area of 10,235 square metres.

BKC, a 19-hectare commercial hub developed by MMRDA, accommodates various corporate and government offices, including the National Stock Exchange, the Securities and Exchange Board of India, and the US Consulate. Additionally, it is home to the Mumbai Cricket Association, Jio World Drive, and the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, establishing it as a prime location for these forthcoming projects. Over the past two decades, MMRDA has financed public projects by raising thousands of crores through the auctioning of plots at BKC to developers, primarily for commercial development.
