The properties were being monitored after receiving multiple complaints from local residents. Yadav stated that this action was part of a continuous effort to address illegal constructions throughout the city, with additional inspections and enforcement measures planned for the near future. The complaints emphasized various illegal construction activities, such as filling cut-out areas, breaching zoning regulations by installing grills, and creating rooms for domestic staff in stilt parking spaces.
Prior to the sealing, property owners received show-cause notices and restoration orders, providing them with sufficient time to eliminate the illegal constructions. However, none of the property owners complied with the orders, leading to the enforcement action taken on October 21. The sealed structures exceeded permissible limits, featuring illegal rooms and modifications that violated town planning guidelines.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of duty magistrate ATP Anish Grover, planning officer Puneet, and junior engineers Rajan and Rohan, along with other department staff members.
