IWAI partners with Rhenus Logistics to strengthen multimodal cargo movement

Rhenus Group, a major player in European logistics, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), which is part of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, to support multimodal cargo transportation across important national waterways. The collaboration will see Rhenus Group commencing scheduled barge operations aimed at enhancing inland waterway logistics. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal highlighted the initiative as a step towards creating a greener, cost-effective, and more efficient logistics network.
