Telangana is redeveloping 40 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme to provide improved passenger facilities. Hitec City station is being renovated in two phases at a cost of INR 36 crore, with work including a new facade, extended footbridge, lifts, escalators, modern toilets, and updated concourse areas. Secunderabad and Hyderabad stations are also being upgraded, costing INR 720 crore and INR 350 crore respectively, while Kacheguda awaits approval. Punjab has announced an INR 16,209 crore initiative to construct 44,920 km of roads across the state. Covering PWD roads, rural link roads, mandi-board stretches, and urban roads, the project is fully funded by the state after central rural development funds were withheld. The plan includes a five year maintenance clause, with strict quality checks and approval from local bodies before payment release. Aiming to improve rural and urban connectivity, the project also addresses infrastructure damaged by last year's floods, supporting trade, mobility, and access to essential services.Read more

DMRC recently completed tunnelling work beneath the operational Red Line at Pulbangash as part of the Magenta Line extension between Janakpuri West and RK Ashram Marg. The team carried out the activity below an elevated viaduct with open foundations, which required detailed planning and ground-strengthening. Engineers used the TAM grouting method with around 180 boreholes to stabilise the pier area, supported by continuous monitoring systems. Train operations on the Red Line continued normally throughout the work. The downline tunnel is finished, and the up-line tunnel is still being constructed.Read more

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy has secured a BOS order worth around INR 1,400 crore from Adani Green Energy for three solar projects at Gujarat's Khavda Renewable Energy Park. This is SWREL's first order from AGEL and includes the supply of goods and onsite services. Currently handling 6 GW in the Khavda region, SWREL aims to complete 5 GW this fiscal. The 1 GW project reinforces its leadership in Gujarat. The company now reports order inflows exceeding INR 6,450 crore this fiscal, with a total portfolio of over 24.4 GWp.Read more

Work on Patna Metro's priority corridor, part of Corridor II, has reached its final stage. Three stations are operational, while Malahi Pakri and Khemnichak are being completed on a high-priority schedule. Critical systems like track laying, signalling, and electrification are under round-the-clock monitoring. The 6.5?km elevated section, once operational, will connect five key stations, easing traffic in the city. Simultaneously, preparatory work continues for Corridor I and Corridor II, which together will form a 31?km network with 24 stations, combining elevated and underground stretches across Patna.Read more

RITES has received the CEAI National Award for Engineering Innovation and Sustainability for its work on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Line (USBRL). The company managed alignment design, surveys and bridge design for 20 bridges along the 272-km route. It also completed technical audits for 25 bridges, including the Chenab Bridge and Anji Khad Bridge, and installed structural health monitoring systems on two major bridges. The award was presented to the company's senior leadership during the CEAI Annual Conference and Awards 2025 held in New Delhi.Read more

The Delhi government is expanding its use of nine-metre electric buses to address congestion and narrow road conditions across the city. Officials have already ordered 2,800 e-buses, with half of them being nine-metre units, and the next purchase plan includes 1,200 more buses, of which 800 will be the compact ones. These smaller buses cost around INR 1 crore each, compared with INR 1.5 crore for a 12-metre bus, and offer better manoeuvrability. The Centre has approved two rail infrastructure projects worth INR 2,781 crore aimed at improving connectivity in Gujarat and Maharashtra. The plan includes doubling the 141-km Okha-Kanalus line and adding the 3rd and 4th tracks along the 32-km Badlapur-Karjat stretch. Together, the works will add around 224 km to the rail network and support nearly 585 villages with a population of about 3.2 million. The projects are expected to ease freight movement, meet rising suburban demand and contribute to reduced emissions through improved network efficiency.Read more

Maple Infrastructure Trust has acquired five toll road assets from Ashoka Concessions Limited and associated entities, adding over 2,100 lane kilometres to its existing portfolio. This expands the trust's holdings from two assets covering 1,212 lane kilometres to seven assets totaling 3,328 lane kilometres, marking a 1.7-fold growth. The acquired roads span West Bengal, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha, including the strategically important Dhankuni-Kharagpur toll road in West Bengal. These projects lie along key economic corridors such as the Golden Quadrilateral and the East-West Corridor, enhancing connectivity and supporting trade.Read more

CMRL is planning to introduce 28 six-car trains by 2028 to increase capacity on its main corridors. These trains will carry up to 1,800 passengers, reducing waiting times and easing peak-hour congestion.
