Maharashtra government plans policy to promote iconic buildings in Mumbai

The Maharashtra government is set to introduce a new policy aimed at encouraging the construction of iconic buildings in Mumbai. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Eknath Shinde announced the initiative in the legislative council, highlighting that historic structures from the British era have shaped Mumbai's identity. The proposed policy is expected to not only facilitate such constructions but also boost tourism. To address restrictions under existing development control rules, Shinde has directed the civic body to make necessary amendments under the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act, Section 37 (1).

Bullet train work disrupted in Ahmedabad as crane collapse halts operations

JNPA plans INR 1,000 crore corporate hub in Mumbai to strengthen port operations

The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has announced plans to construct an iconic high-rise corporate office at Mallet Bunder in Mumbai. The Mumbai Port Authority has allotted a 12,804 sq. m. plot for this project. The building will also house offices of key port-related organisations, including DG Shipping, IPGL, and IPA. JNPA has received in-principle approval from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways. The office will feature a digital observatory, a state-of-the-art auditorium, and a ground-floor canteen. Engineers India Ltd. has been appointed as the project consultant for structural design, engineering, and construction management. The project is expected to be completed within two years after obtaining the necessary approvals and permissions.

Coimbatore Airport expansion begins with INR 29 crore boundary wall tender by AAI
