The new facility, with two basements and three upper floors, will offer dedicated sections for wholesale and retail fish, parking for 84 vehicles, and modern amenities like cold storage and effluent treatment plants. The Sindoor flyover in South Mumbai, earlier known as the Carnac bridge, is set to open to the public following its scheduled inauguration by Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis. Developed by the BMC, the bridge spans 328 metres and facilitates two-way traffic between East and West South Mumbai near Masjid Bunder. Constructed within a strict timeline after the dismantling of the old Carnac bridge in August 2022 due to safety concerns, the new flyover integrates complex civil engineering features, including dual 550-metric-ton steel girders and RCC piers, and has secured all required safety and structural approvals.Read more

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) reviewed 22 issues impacting 18 infrastructure projects in Gujarat and Rajasthan, collectively valued at over INR 36,296 crore. West Bengal's government will make approximately 20 acres of land available for residential, commercial, and for mixed-use developments in New Town, Kolkata. The land will be allotted on a freehold basis through e-auction by HIDCO next month. This initiative focuses on Action Areas II and III, where IT companies are establishing offices. Starting bids for plots range from INR 26 crore to INR 292.2 crore. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ) has inaugurated the world's first steel slag road at a port, located at Hazira Port, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The 1.1-kilometer road uses processed steel slag aggregates, a by-product of steel manufacturing. This project, India's third steel slag road but first in a port globally, demonstrates repurposing industrial waste into durable infrastructure. Developed in collaboration with CSIR-CRRI and the Ministry of Science & Technology, it aligns with the 'Waste to Wealth' mission, positioning APSEZ at the forefront of sustainable maritime infrastructure.Read more

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project is progressing rapidly, with key construction milestones achieved across Maharashtra. Work is underway on three elevated stations-Thane, Virar, and Boisar-with initial slabs cast at Virar and Boisar. Viaduct construction has begun in Palghar, alongside excavation of seven mountain tunnels and a 21 km underground and undersea tunnel between BKC and Shilphata. This includes a 7 km undersea stretch beneath Thane Creek. Significant tunneling has been achieved using TBMs and NATM methods. Vertical shaft works and segment casting for tunnel linings are in full swing. Bridge construction has also started over major rivers, and 80% excavation at BKC station is complete.Read more

The Union Minister of Agriculture, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, announced that nearly 500,000 homeless individuals in Jammu and Kashmir will soon receive homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana after beneficiary verification completes. Alongside, a INR 150 crore Clean Plant Centre will be built in Srinagar to ensure pathogen-free horticulture stock, with additional labs for saffron, soil, and fertilizer quality. Support is being extended to farmers via PM-KISAN, crop insurance mapping, ICAR-backed regional centers and infrastructure upgrades. The Union Environment Ministry has granted final clearance for forest land transfer to build twin tunnels under Mumbai's Sanjay Gandhi National Park, part of the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) project. The 4.7 km tunnels, costing 6,500 crore, will connect Goregaon's Film City to Mulund's Khindipada by 2028. Built 20-160 meters underground, they'll include safety systems, utility ducts, and control rooms. Despite diverting 19.43 hectares of forest, no trees will be affected, and afforestation will be done in Chandrapur district. Extensive environmental studies guided the project. Once completed, the tunnels will cut cross-city travel time from 75 to 25 minutes and lower carbon emissions by over 22,000 tonnes annually.Read more
