Lords Hotels & Resorts has expanded its hospitality presence in India’s spiritual tourism segment with the launch of Lords Inn Katra in Jammu & Kashmir, targeting growing pilgrimage and leisure travel demand linked to the Vaishno Devi shrine.
Located in Katra, the hotel has been developed with 45 rooms along with dining facilities and guest amenities aimed at devotional and family travellers visiting the region. The company stated that the property has been positioned to offer convenient access to the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage corridor while catering to increasing tourism movement into the region.
The hotel has been designed to reflect the spiritual character of the destination while incorporating contemporary hospitality infrastructure and modern guest services, according to the company.
Pushpendra Bansal stated that Katra continues to remain one of India’s most prominent spiritual tourism destinations, attracting millions of visitors annually. He noted that the launch of Lords Inn Katra strengthens the company’s regional footprint while expanding access to organised hospitality services for pilgrims and leisure travellers.
Vikas Suri stated that spiritual tourism across India continues to witness sustained growth, with Katra emerging as an important market within the segment. He added that the new hotel aligns with the group’s broader strategy of expanding across pilgrimage-driven and leisure-focused destinations while delivering standardised hospitality experiences.
The company stated that the property includes facilities focused on comfort, convenience and short-stay requirements commonly associated with pilgrimage travel. Industry observers have noted that rising tourist inflows and improving transport connectivity are increasing demand for organised accommodation infrastructure across several religious tourism destinations in India.
Kumar Roushan stated that the Katra launch represents another milestone in the company’s expansion strategy in Jammu & Kashmir. He added that the group sees significant hospitality growth potential across the region and intends to continue expanding its operational presence.
Vaishno Devi Shrine remains among India’s most visited religious destinations, drawing millions of pilgrims annually. Market participants believe improved regional connectivity, rising domestic tourism and growing preference for organised hospitality offerings are supporting hotel development activity across Katra and surrounding areas.
The launch further strengthens the company’s presence in the mid-market hospitality segment, where operators are increasingly focusing on pilgrimage circuits and tier-II tourism-driven destinations as part of broader domestic expansion plans.
