Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently lauded the accomplishments of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan for Multimodal Connectivity, emphasising that this initiative has considerably enhanced multimodal connectivity, accelerated infrastructure development and improved efficiency throughout the country over the past three years. The initiative was launched on October 13, 2021. PM Gati Shakti brings together various infrastructure schemes from different ministries and state governments, including Bharatmala, Sagarmala, inland waterways, dry ports, and the UDAN scheme.

This plan addresses multimodal connectivity across highways, railways, ports, airports, mass urban transportation, and inland waterways. It has facilitated the seamless movement of goods, resolved bottlenecks within the supply chain, and increased the competitiveness of Indian industries. In a recent post on 'X', Prime Minister Modi shared a message from Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal along with a thread from MyGov. He expressed that the PM Gati Shakti initiative is helping India accelerate towards the vision of a developed nation, stating that it would promote progress, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Additionally, 156 infrastructure gaps have been identified by relevant ministries and departments. The PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan is also dedicated to developing smart, green solutions for sustainable infrastructure.

The PM Gati Shakti initiative marks a transformative step in India's infrastructure landscape, driving enhanced multimodal connectivity and economic competitiveness. By breaking down silos and fostering collaboration among various stakeholders, the plan not only addresses critical infrastructure gaps but also lays the groundwork for sustainable development.
