He warned that individuals found by the police to have not completed their tenant verification will face fines.
The Chief Minister stated that the police would assist in the tenant verification process over the next five days and addressed rumors claiming that the police were demanding INR 200 to complete the verification. He emphasized that landlords who rent out their properties should submit the necessary documents for their tenants to finalize the tenant verification. He noted that the initiative is intended to benefit both the landlords and the tenants residing in those properties.
He pointed out that there have been reports of individuals staying in rented properties committing theft and, at times, being involved in murder.
