The Noida Authority will impose strict penalties on property developers who have not adhered to the Uttar Pradesh government's rehabilitation package. Developers who failed to pay 25% of their recalculated dues face potential loss of lease deeds, allocated plots, and unsold inventory. Of 57 assessed projects, 27 paid the required advance, but 16 made no payments and 14 partial ones. The Authority is also targeting industrialists and businesses for construction delays and unauthorised land use. Measures to improve urban infrastructure and public health standards are also being implemented as part of a broader development strategy.
The Noida Authority is preparing to take strict measures against property developers who have not complied with the Uttar Pradesh government's rehabilitation package. Those who have opted for this package but failed to pay 25% of their recalculated dues will face serious consequences, potentially losing lease deeds, allocated plots, and unsold inventory. This decision comes after a review meeting led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, focusing on the need for timely compliance in the region's development projects.
In Gautam Budh Nagar, 57 projects were assessed for the government's rehabilitation initiatives, which were recommended by a committee headed by former Niti Aayog member Amitabh Kant. Among these, 27 developers opted for a two-year zero period waiver and managed to pay the required advance. However, 16 projects have not made any payments, and another 14 only paid partially. The Authority has issued an ultimatum to these 30 defaulters, signalling that failure to comply will lead to decisive action, including the cancellation of their lease deeds and possible seizure of idle land.
The Authority's actions are not limited to just these developers. Plans are in place to expand the crackdown to include industrialists and businesses that have not met construction deadlines. During the same meeting, Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M reviewed the conditions of vacant plots across various sectors, urging officials to ensure that these lands are integrated into future development schemes. The focus is not only on enforcing compliance but also on addressing issues of unauthorised construction and encroachments on public land.
Additionally, the Noida Authority is implementing measures to enhance the aesthetics and functionality of infrastructure in the area. Initiatives discussed include the redevelopment of key roads, installation of reflective signage, improved street lighting, and maintenance of public amenities. Officials are also tasked with addressing cleanliness and health standards in the city, with particular attention being paid to public restrooms and overall sanitation efforts.
In a related note, the public health department has been directed to monitor employee attendance, as deficiencies were noted in workforce presence during morning hours. A recent notice was issued to the general manager of the public health sector, highlighting ongoing cleanliness issues. The Authority is keen on upholding urban standards and improving the living conditions for Noida residents.
The measures taken by the Noida Authority reflect a broader commitment to ensuring developers adhere to regulations while fostering an environment conducive to sustainable growth. As the city continues to expand, the effective management of construction and urban planning remains key to maintaining its appeal as a rapidly developing urban hub.
With these developments, Noida is taking a firm stance against those who fail to meet their obligations, setting a precedent for future compliance in the sector.
