The Tawi riverfront development is modelled after the successful Sabarmati riverfront project in Gujarat. It aims to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the Tawi river, improve its natural purification capabilities, and promote environmental and urban infrastructure sustainability.
The project will create recreational, residential, commercial, and green spaces on the reclaimed land and surrounding areas. This comprehensive development is expected to transform the region's aesthetics and functionality, providing diverse benefits to the community.
A crucial meeting was held to discuss the project's financial and strategic aspects. Led by JSCL Chief Executive Officer Rahul Yadav, the meeting was convened by JSCL Project Director Sunil Thusoo and included representatives from the real estate consulting firm CBRE. Key discussions covered architectural plans, development control regulations, and the integration of essential facilities and green spaces.
JSCL, established in August 2017, is a special purpose vehicle tasked with implementing development projects to modernise Jammu, known as the city of temples. The organisation is dedicated to improving the city's infrastructure and sustainability.
JSCL Project Director Sunil Thusoo emphasised the project's immense potential, urging CBRE to expedite the formulation of a land monetisation strategy for the reclaimed lands. The project is expected to significantly boost tourism and bring substantial benefits to Jammu Smart City.
