The Maharashtra Government has announced the construction of 1,056 (one thousand and fifty-six) new homes in Nakshatrwadi under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), a central government initiative providing affordable housing.
This announcement comes alongside the allocation of 1,133 (one thousand one hundred thirty-three) homes and 361 (three hundred sixty-one) plots across Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Latur, Jalna, Nanded, Hingoli, Parbhani, and Dharashiv. These homes and plots were developed under various housing schemes managed by the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority's (MHADA) Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Board. A computerised lottery was conducted in four phases to ensure fair allocation. Suresh Bansode emerged as the first winner in the lottery for 425 (four hundred twenty-five) PMAY homes in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
State Housing Minister Atul Save made the announcement during a visit to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. He highlighted that the new project in Nakshatrwadi will offer modern amenities, comparable to those found in private developments. This signifies a commitment to providing quality housing options for residents. The exact details of the amenities and the start date for construction of the 1,056 homes have not yet been announced, but a bhoomipujan ceremony (groundbreaking ceremony) is expected to take place soon.
This initiative reflects the government's ongoing efforts to address housing needs across Maharashtra. The PMAY scheme offers financial assistance to eligible individuals and families to help them achieve their dream of owning a home. The new homes in Nakshatrwadi and the allocation of existing 1,133 homes and 361 plots through the lottery system are positive steps towards this goal.
