The minister reviewed the progress of housing units being built under the PM Awas Yojana scheme across the state. He said the government would extend full support to the beneficiaries to ensure timely completion of these units.
Saradhi said that they wanted to clear the infrastructure troubles in the housing colonies in a phased manner by making field visits. He revealed that the government has prepared a roadmap to complete the construction of all ongoing housing projects systematically. The officials will hand-hold the beneficiaries throughout the process.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is particularly keen on providing houses to all the poor in the state, the minister said. To facilitate this, the government has decided to allow stage conversion for about 6 lakh housing units that have not yet commenced, enabling the beneficiaries to start work soon. The minister said the government will spend INR 2,520 crore to complete the 1.28 lakh houses in the next three months.
He explained that the government plans to utilize fly ash from VTPS, NTPC, Nellore, RTTPS power plants for road construction and leveling of low-lying colonies. The cost of fly ash transportation will be borne by the government.
