Earlier this month, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy highlighted the need for Warangal's development to match that of Hyderabad, instructing officials to draft a comprehensive 'Master Plan-2050' for the city's growth. During his visit to Warangal, he conducted a thorough review of the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation's progress with ministers and officials. Reddy directed them to expedite land acquisition for both inner and outer ring roads and provide detailed funding requirements.

He proposed linking national highways through the Outer Ring Road and emphasised the necessity of constructing a road connecting it to the Textile Park. Reddy also mandated plans for an underground drainage system under the 'Smart City mission', laying drinking water pipelines, and preventing encroachments in water channels. He insisted that the in-charge minister conduct biweekly reviews to closely monitor Warangal's development.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the escalated cost of the super-specialty hospital in Warangal, Reddy questioned the unauthorised increase from INR 1,100 crore to INR 1,726 crore. He demanded a thorough forensic audit to investigate this cost overrun. During the inauguration of a private hospital, Reddy articulated the government's vision to establish Telangana as a hub for medical tourism. He announced plans for a digital health profile card to facilitate free medical treatment for all citizens across the state.

These cards will contain comprehensive medical details such as blood group, previous treatments, and prescribed medications, each assigned a unique identification number. Upon scanning, hospital staff can access the individual's complete medical history. Throughout his interactions, Reddy reiterated the importance of regular oversight and accountability in the execution of developmental projects. He mandated bi-weekly reviews by the responsible minister to monitor progress on Warangal's initiatives closely, emphasising transparency and efficiency in governance.

In conclusion, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's visit to Warangal underscored his proactive stance on urban development and infrastructure enhancement, aiming to elevate Warangal's status to that of a modern and vibrant city on par with Hyderabad. His directives and announcements reflect a strategic vision for inclusive growth and sustainable development across Telangana's urban landscape.
