Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde conducted a surprise inspection of all departments at the NMMC headquarters. Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner of Administration, Shri. Sharad Pawar, Dr. Shinde aimed to ensure adherence to protocols and improve service delivery.

During the inspection, Dr. Shinde emphasised the importance of punctuality, directing all department heads to ensure that their employees arrive on time. This measure, he stated, is essential for maintaining an efficient and people-oriented administration. He also instructed that offices should adhere to government regulations regarding the storage of waste and documents, ensuring they are properly kept in cupboards.

Dr. Shinde highlighted the need for publicising the messages of Swachh Survekshan and Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyaan without compromising the aesthetic appeal of the office, as the headquarters sees a large number of visitors daily. Furthermore, he directed improvements in the cleanliness of toilets and water cooler areas, stressing the importance of internal hygiene.

To streamline internal management, Dr. Shinde called for the activation of the CCTV control room, allowing for quick access to location information. He also emphasised that the emergency management room should be on high alert at all times. The commissioner instructed that all citizen messages received should be recorded with date and time, and promptly communicated to the relevant departments. Ensuring the functionality of hotline and telephone lines in the emergency management room was also a priority.

Dr. Shinde extended these directives to all department offices and other NMMC offices, advocating for the implementation of a similar working system across the corporation. This initiative aims to create a more dynamic and responsive administrative structure, aligning with the NMMC's mission to serve the citizens of Navi Mumbai effectively.

The surprise inspection and subsequent directives underscore the NMMC's commitment to improving administrative efficiency and public service delivery, reflecting the proactive leadership of Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde.
