Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials of the Stamp and Registration Department to expedite the implementation of Online Registration Rules 2024 during a recent meeting. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of transitioning to an online system for stamps and registration, aimed at enhancing convenience and improving data management. He underscored the need to simplify the registration process for rent agreements across residential, non-residential, and commercial properties by restructuring stamp registration fees into different brackets.
CM Yogi emphasised transparency in the entire process, advocating for e-registration through government agencies and RERA-approved builders in Phase 1. This phase will include approvals for sale deeds and lease agreements by designated nodal officers, with digital capture of parties' photos and signatures for streamlined processing.
In Phase 2, the scope of e-registration will extend to include RERA-approved institutions, ensuring comprehensive digital documentation and verification through Aadhaar for online stamping and e-KYC. This move aims to eliminate the necessity of physical presence at registry offices, reducing inconvenience and operational costs while enhancing efficiency and minimising legal risks associated with manual processes.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the critical need for secure electronic records to prevent tampering and facilitate seamless verification processes. He emphasised that the shift to electronic registration will not only benefit citizens by saving time and reducing intermediary costs but also enhance the overall operational efficiency of government offices.
The proposed Online Registration Rules 2024 represent a significant step towards modernising property registration in Uttar Pradesh, aligning with broader digital transformation initiatives aimed at improving governance and service delivery across the state.
