NTT Ltd., an international IT infrastructure and services company, revealed plans for its inaugural data center campus in the Paris market, a pivotal hub for data centers in Europe. This campus, spanning 14.4 hectares (approximately 35.5 acres), will accommodate a projected capacity of 84 MW of critical IT load across three data centers. Situated 50km south of Paris in Le Coudray-Montceaux and Corbeil-Essonnes, the site boasts proximity to crucial digital infrastructure and has reserved power for immediate deployment.
Doug Adams, CEO and President of NTT Global Data Centers & Submarine Cable, emphasized the significance of Paris in their global expansion strategy, showing its importance as a strategic addition to their offerings. Their development in the Paris metro area will be a collaborative effort with local municipalities, partners, and government entities. Adding Paris aligns with their successful track record of operations in continental Europe and the UK, setting the stage for NTT’s continued expansion and growth across both existing and new markets in Europe.
Logistics Capital Partners initially acquired the former brownfield site in 2019 through a public auction. They subsequently oversaw the demolition, decontamination, and acquisition of permits and necessary power connections for data center usage. Logistics Capital Partners (LCP) will maintain strategic involvement to aid in the development and delivery of this new campus.
As the demand for data usage and computation rises due to the increased adoption of generative AI and other technologies, the necessity for data centers is expected to grow globally. The addition of the Paris market aligns with NTT’s global expansion endeavors to meet these demands. This expansion includes recent announcements of new data center campuses in Virginia, United States, and in Noida and Chennai, India. These efforts represent part of the company’s investment exceeding USD 10 billion.
