DDA approves key infrastructure projects, land use modifications and housing schemes in Delhi

This facilitates vital facilities like RFID setups, electrical sub-stations, and RRTS facilities. Housing schemes like the Diwali Special Housing Scheme 2023 and e-auctions for leftover flats in Dwarka are underway, offering discounts to incentivize buyers, including government employees. Moreover, non-governmental legal entities can now purchase built-up properties in bulk, fostering residential staff quarters and hostels. These initiatives, endorsed by the DDA, aim to address infrastructure needs and foster sustainable urban development in Delhi.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has given its seal of approval for several key projects aimed at enhancing public infrastructure and boosting the housing sector. These decisions were made during a meeting chaired by Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena, who also serves as the chairman of the department.



In a move towards sustainable development, the DDA has approved changes in land use for projects promoting green energy and efficient public transportation in various areas including Ghazipur, Auchandi village, and Jangpura. These changes are intended to facilitate the establishment of essential public facilities such as RFID setup in Ghazipur, construction of an electrical sub-station in Auchandi village, and installation of RRTS (Rapid Rail Transit System) facilities in Jangpura.



Furthermore, the DDA has extended timelines for 23 non-conforming industrial clusters to submit redevelopment plans. Additionally, predetermined rates for various phases and areas including Rohini phase IV and V, Tikri Kalan, and Narela have been approved.



In a bid to address housing needs, the DDA has initiated several schemes including the Diwali Special Housing Scheme 2023, which saw significant interest and bookings. Plans are underway for another round of e-auction for left-out flats in Dwarka, along with offering MIG flats at Loknayakpuram through the FCFS mode.



To incentivize buyers, discounts ranging from 15% to 25% are being offered on selected flats, with specific benefits for government employees. Moreover, the DDA has allowed non-governmental legal entities to purchase built-up properties in bulk, opening avenues for residential staff quarters and hostels.



These proposals, now approved by the DDA, are set to be forwarded to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for further processing. With these initiatives, the DDA aims to not only address the pressing infrastructure needs of Delhi but also pave the way for sustainable and inclusive urban development in the region.
